First, press the locking pin located on the angle grinder housing to lock the grinding pad in place. Place the tube on the wrench into the two holes at the bottom of the nut holding the grinding disc in place, then loosen the nut. Remove the nut and the old grinding disc and install a sandblasting type bush hammer plate suitable for masonry work. Screw the retaining nut into place and tighten it with a wrench. Wrenches are supplied with the grinder.
Next, use a grease pencil or marker to mark the width of the area you want to cut in the concrete. This indicates the width you want to cut.
Then, hold the 5 inch hexagons bush hammer plate at a 45-degree angle to the concrete and pull the trigger. Hold the grinder away from you and in contact with the concrete, then pull the grinder toward you in a smooth, slow and consistent manner. Do not force the grinder into the concrete. Allow time for the grinder to cut into the concrete. This will minimize heat buildup and prevent premature concrete damage to the pad.
